You Saved Me

Rip's savior is Salvador, "a sea creature" who was actually based on a mudpuppy (aka, waterdogs.) They are the largest of the salamanders, averaging about 11" in length. They can be found in lakes from southern central Canada, through the midwestern United States, east to North Carolina and south to Georgia and Mississippi. They are thought to be so ugly and slimy that it is said that if a fisherman accidentally catches one, they cut the creature loose rather than touch it. That's why the creature was so perfect to play Salvador!
