Squeaky Clean by Chris Hopkins - Artist & Illustrator

Artist and illustrator, Chris Hopkins was chosen to work with Rip Squeak, Inc. because of the excellence and integrity of his art and his ability to maintain those same qualities in developing original works based on, and consistent with, the Rip Squeak® brand as created by artist and illustrator, Leonard Filgate.

Chris' art and illustration work has run the gamut from government, to sports, to the entertainment industry. His talents have been eagerly sought by many to commemorate, portray, advertise, and/or immortalize the people and events of our age.

Chris was the official theme artist for the Operation Desert Storm National Homecoming Celebration in 1992, followed in 1993 by the commissioning of a special-edition painting to honor those who served in Vietnam. His ongoing contributions to the world of sports art date back to 1978 and he has produced theme art for three Super Bowls, paintings for the NFL's Silver and 75th Anniversary exhibitions, and numerous team and celebrity portraits. He is the Exclusive Artist for the Forever Young Foundation, founded by Steve Young in 1993, to benefit children. Commemorative art commissions include the America's Cup and the Seattle Goodwill Games. His work has appeared in many periodicals, including the Sports Illustrated Special Edition for the Olympics.

Corporate clients have included Nike, Boeing, and the Coca Cola Company.
His work can be found in collections at the Library of Congress, the White House, and NFL Properties. He has been commissioned to create paintings that depict heroic ideals from the Super Bowl to the Persian Gulf War, ideals that have defined American culture.

Chris graduated with honors and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California in 1979. By the time he established the Chris Hopkins Illustration Studio in 1984, he had already distinguished himself with numerous awards and honors from the art and entertainment communities. Acknowledgements have come from the AIGA, the Society of Illustrators (Gold and Silver Medals,) and many others, including nominations for a Grammy Award for Album Package Design, and finalist for the Prestigious Cleo Award.

Chris will be working closely with the rest of the Rip Squeak® team to create artwork for future Rip Squeak and FriendsTM books and other ventures.
