It’s been almost three years since the last brand new Rip Squeak and His Friends picture book. That’s a long time in the world of children’s books, but hopefully, it has been worth the wait.
There have been a few changes in the Rip Squeak world. Along the way, there have been new prints, new galleries, and a new creative team. I am honored, along with established and recognized illustrators like Julia Harnett Harvey and Loyal Newville to continue on the great tradition of Rip Squeak established by creators Leonard Filgate and Susan Yost-Filgate.
The first of the new Rip Squeak books is Find the Magic, featuring glorious illustrations by Julia Harnett Harvey and a vision of Rip and his friends as you have never seen them before. You have already seen a preview of these images with the prints, “Find the Magic,” “Dawn of the Festival,” and “Ye Olde Book Shoppe” -- but there is so much more.
Find the Magic takes Rip Squeak, Jesse, and their friends, Abbey and Euripides to an awe-inspiring bookshop where they are transported to the fantasy worlds they read about. Brave knights, fairy princesses, an Arabian Nights magic carpet ride and a very Sherlock Holmes-ian frog are all part of the magic. It’s a beautiful lesson for all ages about the joy of reading and literacy.
Upon the release of each book, a new selection of limited edition prints will be released: brilliant new images, sure to be best-sellers. We hope you will join with us and celebrate the new art and books of Rip Squeak and his Friends. |
